In light of the energy transition the city of Leeuwarden wishes to transform to a sustainable district heating system. The system will consist of a heating grid powered by two geothermal wells. The initial design of the wells was done by Spidron Weco. As part of the project organisation, we have been responsible for the well design, procurement and drilling management. We also supported the project-team in their communication with stakeholders.
In 2020 the responsibility for well design and drilling management was transferred to Shell Geothermal B.V.
